PIP-MKX Series

PIP-MKX SERIES

CANbus BMS Support Update

Applicable only to models produced on/after Q4, 2022, 5048MKX can now enable CANbus support for BMS connection through this update.  Simply download file to PC and extract folder to desktop, then follow this guide to launch program file.  After successful update, user can then have access to a new additional setting under “Battery Type” (05) specifically for CANbus.

  • The PIP-MKX series is the HIGH PV input (500V) version of the MK Series and built-in WIFI transmitter has been added to replace Bluetooth to enhance monitoring convenience and allows users to access inverter records on via APP on iPhone or Android smartphones.

Key features of the MK series retained on the MKX are as follows:

    • Zero transfer time between line mode and inverter mode (double conversion)

This feature is especially important for critical and sensitive load such as servers and ATM machines where security is a high concern and therefore these load do not tolerate any form of power interruption.

    • Parallel capability up to 9 units, in 1-phase or 3-phase configuration

this allows great flexibility and expansion possibility to users (parallel kits required), as shown below in 9-unit parallel examples in single phase and 3-phase respectively.

    • BMS Compatibility to select systems — Pylontech, Weco, and Soltaro

MKS Series contains a dedicated BMS port that may be used to link to compatible lithium battery brands such as Pylontech, Weco, or Soltaro.  A special data cable is required and sold separately to facilitate the communication.  Note this BMS feature may also apply to other lithium batteries that share the same protocol as Pylontech/Weco/Soltaro.  For more information, please see Pylontech BMS information page.

IMPORTANT: restrictions when using zero-transfer time models (online design)

    1. While using generators as AC input on our zero transfer time models (1-3K LV-MK, 5048MK and 5048MKX) is possible, it is NOT recommended because there’s a strong possibility that the generator input cannot be “phase-locked” to establish a solid connection with the inverter.  Zero transfer time inverters are designed based on online UPS topology and so it has a particularly high requirement to phase-lock with any AC input source.  Generators output – even inverter-type generators – are known to have fluctuating frequency such that phase-lock may be very difficult, most likely not possible.  While this typically won’t result in any damage, the generator input would become useless.  For best performance, please refrain from using generators on these models and apply only utility grid.
    2. ECO mode (grid bypass) is automatically disabled on parallel setup; only single unit operation will allow ECO mode / bypass.  This is due to limitation of online design and cannot be changed.
