Misinformation on YouTube

March 1st, 2017

It has come to our attention that an individual is posting false video on YouTube which claims our 1kva 12 vinverter (812HS) has a higher no load (>30w) draw than advertised <15w.

This is FALSE.

At the request of our customer we have prepared a video to show that the inverter actually consumes LESS than than the advertised 15w — it is only drawing 12.3w.

This video is done in our production laboratory using the professional grade Yokogawa meter ($2500 USD) and is what we use regularly in the quality production for all our inverters.

In contrast, the false video on YouTube shows uses a generic, low cost watt meter of questionable quality  that can be purchased easily on eBay for less than $15 USD.  This cannot be expected to have good precision when measuring low load.

Upon investigation, we have also identified the individual as a former customer who had contacted us before and made vile threats based on unreasonable demand – refund on purchase made using, again, poor and inaccurate measuring instrument that led him to believe our product is “not as advertised”.   Despite our effort to communicate and educate, we could not bring him to reason.

Please note that MPP Solar will NOT tolerate or give in to any form of threat.  This is against our business principle.

It is sad that YouTube is becoming a breeding ground to online abuse and bullying, but we still believe most people are honest and reasonable.  To all our customers, thank you for your continuous support.
